Life-safety and system design

A request-to-exit detector should not replace required mechanical free egress. Avenger Security recommends using REX input as part of the approved access-control logic and for door-forced, door-propped and audit functions—not as the sole means of permitting occupants to exit. Door hardware, controller programming and local life-safety requirements must be reviewed together.
