Security System Service Fees and Consultation Policy
This schedule explains Avenger Security’s standard service categories. The written proposal or service authorization controls when a project has different travel, equipment, permitting, after-hours or specialized-labor requirements.
New-client consultation for new services
$0 for the on-site visit and first hour of consultation. New clients considering a new monitoring, alarm, access-control, video or fire-alarm service receive an on-site visit and up to one hour of consultation at no cost.
The consultation can document existing equipment, project objectives, doors, wiring, power, network conditions, monitoring needs and the recommended scope. It does not include hands-on troubleshooting, repair, programming, installation, inspection or corrective work on an existing system.
Standard service rates
| Service category | Standard rate | Typical scope |
|---|---|---|
| Existing-system site visit or diagnostic service | $195 | On-site troubleshooting, condition review or service diagnosis when applicable |
| Standard technical labor | $95 per hour | Programming, testing, light wiring adjustments and routine technical service; one-hour minimum |
| Installation and configuration labor | $195 per hour | Installation, advanced configuration and project work; two-hour minimum |
| Heavy labor or difficult conditions | $165 per hour | Attic or crawlspace work, conduit, difficult wire pulls and other labor-intensive conditions; one-hour minimum |
Not every project uses every rate. The applicable visit charge, labor category, minimum and expected scope should be confirmed before work proceeds.
What may be quoted separately
- Equipment, batteries, wire, connectors and consumable materials.
- Permits, plans, engineering, inspection and AHJ fees.
- Lift rental, specialty access equipment or additional technicians.
- Travel outside the normal service area.
- Emergency, after-hours or expedited service.
- Cloud subscriptions and monthly monitoring.
- Third-party locksmith, electrician, network or construction work.
Scope changes during a visit
A simple request can become technical or heavy labor after failed equipment, damaged wiring, inaccessible pathways or unsafe conditions are discovered. The technician should explain the changed scope and applicable rate before continuing beyond the authorized work.
Monitoring and subscription charges
Recurring monitoring and cloud services are separate from on-site labor:
- $19.99 per month for basic residential burglar monitoring.
- $29.99 per month for residential Alarm.com interactive monitoring.
- $39.99 per month for commercial Alarm.com burglar monitoring.
- Approximately $70–$75 per month for commercial fire-alarm monitoring.
- Brivo, Eagle Eye Networks and other cloud platforms require their applicable subscriptions.
First and last month may be collected when recurring service begins. Burglar-alarm monitoring uses a 90-day cancellation notice rather than a multi-year monitoring contract.
Warranty and billable service
Qualifying new installations may include a five-year workmanship warranty. The written proposal defines covered installation work and exclusions. Equipment failure, batteries, damage, misuse, unsupported products, third-party modifications and work outside the original installation scope may be billable.
Prepare for the appointment
Send the property address, photos, equipment model numbers, trouble messages and a clear description of the requested work. This helps us bring appropriate parts and identify whether the appointment is a no-cost new-service consultation or billable existing-system service.
